Illinois has a lot of problems, most of which center on Springfield, and policies enacted by our state government over decades, by career politicians whose primary motivation is to retain office.
The “Illinois way” has become a national tag line for self-serving politicians and outright corruption. We recently learned that a $55 million Neighborhood Recovery Initiative, failed on all counts, including accountability, and may have been little more than an attempt to buy votes. We have also heard that hundreds of “patronage” jobs at the Illinois Department of Transportation were created for the politically connected.
We need new representatives in Springfield. Chris Nybo is running for the 24th State Senate seat. Nybo’s reputation during a two-year term in the Illinois house was one of a pragmatic person looking for common sense solutions. He believes in reasonable term limits; no one should look at their time in Springfield as a career. He also believes campaign finance reform is necessary to stop politicians from rewarding big donors.
Illinois has a lot of problems, and I believe that Chris Nybo can help address them.
